Cool Police forces with 03 telephone numbers

There are now 10 police forces across the UK which use 03xx telephone numbers. Eight of these have moved from 0845 numbers. The latest is Cambridgeshire Constabulary.

    The full list is:

    Cambridgeshire Constabulary 0345 456 456 4
    Derbyshire Constabulary 0345 123 3333
    Durham Constabulary 0345 6060 365
    Essex Police 0300 333 4444
    Metropolitan Police 0300 123 1212
    Northamptonshire Police 03000 111 222
    Northumbria Police 03456 043 043
    Staffordshire Police 0300 123 4455
    Tayside Police 0300 111 2222
    West Mercia Constabulary 0300 333 3000

A list of these and other public sector 03 number users is available on the SAYNOTO0870.COM Hall of Fame.

This Memo should be discussed at the NHW Network and Regional Meetings where Forces are on 0845. It does not encourage NHW to report non emergency matters.

A New Listing of the UK Police Forces still creaming off money from Calls will be posted soon.

Unfortunately there are at least two forces, West Midlands Police and Devon & Cornwall Police who will not release the phone numbers that 0845 is over.

West Midlands Police have even been taken to task by the Press, but they would rather rip off their callers. They have a Chief Constable who came from Staffordshire who never made money from callers and have gone to 0300 to make it better for them.

The promotion must have gone to his head.

Hopefully a change of Government will see that it is unfair not to have a 01,02,03 number for a non emergency. Especially for mobile use.

This Labour Government spent huge sums on 101 - that came to nothing for England. Wales later adopted it.

Just waiting for a listening Government otherwise.
